1a. The official DSA answer is between 40 and 60 hours of professional tuition. From experience few people pass in less than 40 hours, unless they practise in their own car in addition to their lessons. Age and ability also determine how quickly you will learn. (Back to top)

2a.You will need to obtain a provisional driving license. The forms for this are available from your local Post Office. You must also have good eyesight. You are required to read the number plate on a car from 20.5 metres. If you have any doubt visit an optician before you start driving. (Back to top)

3a. At the moment it is not compulsory, but it would be very difficult to pass your driving test without the knowledge of an instructor. They go through a tough training course and testing before they can qualify to teach you. (Back to top)

 4a. It is recommended that you do. This way your instructor can help you with any problems you may have with your theory revision. (Back to top)

 5a.You must take both parts of your driving licence, the photo card and the paper counterfoil part. You cannot take your test without both parts, so check well before your test and contact DVLA immediately. (Back to top)

6a.You will need to take both parts of your driving licence and your theory test certificate. (Back to top)

7a. The waiting time varies, but in Pinner and Greenford the average is about 8 to 9 weeks. (Back to top)
